The medicine listed in the oncology supportive medicine list (formulary) apply across all health plans unless otherwise stated. You may need to get your medicine from a designated service provider (DSP) to avoid a 20% co-payment. Visit www.discovery.co.za under Medical Aid > Find a doctor or click on Find a healthcare provider in the Discovery Health app to find providers in our network.
As from 1 July 2024, Discovery Health Medical Scheme will introduce the Oncology Reference Pricing, which includes generic reference pricing for oncology supportive medication, chemotherapy treatment and hormone medication. Oncology Reference pricing will apply to the drug molecules listed on the Oncology Preferred product list.
Discovery Health Medical Scheme reserves the right to change the benefit at any time. We will communicate any changes to the way we pay medicines when we make these.
